You might have heard that Jenny and Dave Marrs, the stars of HGTV’s “Fixer to Fabulous,” more than held their own during the most recent season of “Rock the Block.” The talented couple impressed the judges with their ultra-functional yet elegant renovations, courtesy of Jenny’s design expertise and Dave’s background in general contracting and building.

The Marrses have also singlehandedly put Bentonville, AR, on the map as they work to restore old homes in the area in their signature rustic-modern style. Yet with all these accolades to their credit, you’re probably wondering what the cute couple are like IRL, right?

So, to help out, we’re shining a light on the other areas of their lives. Read on for eight fun facts about the stars of “Fixer to Fabulous.”

Jenny and Dave met after college and were good friends for years before things started to get more serious. Their relationship went to the next level on a trip to Paris that included a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. And it was atop this amazing structure that Dave proposed on one knee. His grand romantic gesture paid off—the couple have been married for 17 years.

2. The Marrses have five kids

The Marrs family is a gorgeous brood of five—with three boys (twins Nathan and Ben, and their youngest child, Luke) and two girls (Sylvie and Charlotte). Dave and Jenny adopted their eldest daughter, Sylvie, from the Democratic Republic of the Congo in August 2013. They faced an uphill battle trying to adopt Sylvie, but after almost three years of red tape and roadblocks, they were finally able to add her to their family.

3. They have dogs named Banana and Dolly

Banana and Dolly might rule the roost in their home, but the Marrs menagerie goes far beyond these two doggos. There are also numerous farm animals (“too many to count,” according to Jenny’s blog) on their property, including sheep, llamas, alpaca, and donkeys.

4. The Marrses renovated an animal shelter

Their love of animals runs deep.

To underscore their devotion to their furry friends, Jenny and Dave renovated a local animal shelter. As part of their HGTV holiday episode last year, the “Fixer to Fabulous” duo gave the no-kill Bella Vista Animal Shelter in Bella Vista, AR, a much-needed makeover, complete with new kennels and a custom spot for cats to frolic.

5. Their home is over 100 years old

Jenny and Dave’s home was saved from demolition.

The Marrs home became their own special project when they found a dilapidated farmhouse that was supposed to be torn down. Once inside, Jenny knew it would be their forever home.

“My affection for the old home was undeniable—it exuded character and hospitable charm,” Jenny writes on her blog.

6. They also own a blueberry farm

Yup, it’s called The Berry Farm, and it’s a place that’s near and dear to both Jenny and Dave. It’s both a U-pick family farm and an event space, which help to fund vocational training, farming know-how, and food for orphaned kids in Zimbabwe with the organization Help One Now. The Marrses also host an annual Berry Fest with live music and food trucks to raise money and give back to their own community with a great day of fun.

7. The Marrses launched a home line at Walmart

If you’re looking to refresh your outdoor furniture and decor, Jenny and Dave can help you out. Their 30-piece line, called The Marrs Collection by Better Homes & Gardens, just launched at Walmart and includes this sweet teak porch swing with cushions.

Other items in the collection include a matching teak dining table, outdoor area rugs, pillows, lanterns, and planters.

8. They once made an indoor treehouse

As parents of five young ones, Jenny and Dave focus on family-friendly designs. One of their more whimsical projects includes this indoor treehouse they built for a family on “Fixer to Fabulous.” With authentic exterior shingles and sweet flower boxes under the windows, this lofty play space is a dream come true for kids and parents.
