The actress Renée Wilson, best known for playing Pat Lyle, one of the Raelettes, in the 2004 film “Ray,” has decided to part with her stylish home in San Rafael, CA. She has listed the property for $1,775,000.

The home was designed by Brent Dickens and built in 1989, and its look and feel was inspired by the aesthetic of  Frank Lloyd Wright. The three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house, with more than 2,500 square feet, is one of just five custom homes in a gated subdivision. The property is surrounded by 100-year-old oak trees, and offers views of San Pablo Bay.

“I fell in love with all of the little architectural details,” Wilson said in a recent interview with realtor.com® from the home. “When I first walked in, I felt like I was in some sort of enchanted fairy tale.”

The enchantment begins as soon as you’re greeted by the striking, custom-carved front door. The entry leads to the large, light-filled living room, with soaring, beamed ceilings. Views of the surrounding rolling hills are framed from all angles by walls of windows. Even the view from the kitchen sink is breathtaking.

Outside, a large deck and terraced yard offer intimate spaces for taking in the fresh air.

Wilson adds that the retreat has provided her family with peaceful and modern living.

The 0.5-acre property feels as if it is isolated, set in the middle of the old-growth forest. But it is actually only 30 minutes from San Francisco (traffic permitting, as Wilson points out) and just 10 minutes from the ferry terminal, for a quick boat ride into the city.

In addition to her acting career, Wilson is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and singer who has been working in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years. She says she, her husband, and son, plan to stay in the Bay Area. The multitalented artist is currently performing her one-woman show, “HoneyPot.” And she’s in pre-production on a short film titled “Again.”

Danielle Salk and Jurg Spoerry of Engel & Völkers hold the listing.
