Last fall, the late fashion designer Max Azria’s mansion in Los Angeles went on the market for $78 million, which earned it the title of most expensive listing of the week at the time.
On the other coast, Azria’s vacation home on Fisher Island in Florida just went up for sale earlier this month. Although the locale is exclusive (the luxury penthouse is on the island’s northern tip), the price is relatively modest, at $5.9 million.
The price is quite a steal for a prestigious property in this tony enclave just south of South Beach. There are nearly 20 listings on Fisher Island priced above $10 million.
And this isn’t the first time Azria’s island oasis has been available for sale. The current price is a discount—it was first listed in 2014 for $7 million.
So why the price cut? Well, the vacation getaway just isn’t being used much anymore.
“The owners have priced it to sell,” says listing agent Jill Eber. “This is a very competitive price for Fisher Island.”
Airy and bright, the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom condo offers a whopping 5,790 square feet of living space. It has a chef’s kitchen with adjoining family room.
Stunning views are a staple on Fisher Island, and this property doesn’t disappoint. There are two huge terraces with views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.
Azria, co-creator of the powerhouse luxury brand BCBG Max Azria, died last spring.
