But the latest house to make us go “Huh?” is a former sheriff’s home in Fayette, MO. The two-bedroom, 2,465-square-foot home was on the market (but has since been pulled off the market) for $350,000.
Listing photos 1 to 32 depict a perfectly modest Midwestern place, but once you reach photo 33, things start to get a little bizarre. It is revealed that the home is attached to nine jail cells!
Once this strange (and slightly disturbing-looking) property went viral, we knew we had to get the inside scoop. Why does a fully functional jail exist on this property? What use does a homeowner have for this unique amenity? We answer these questions and more on this episode of “House Party.”
Other topics we discuss:
- Bradley Cooper fans in Fairfield, CT, were devastated to learn that the A-list celebrity is not living in the most expensive home in town.
- “Get Organized With the Home Edit,” a new home organizing show coming to Netflix
- This week’s real estate winner and loser
