Former NFL wide receiver Hines Ward is looking to pass his Boca Raton, FL, estate to a new owner. The luxury build is now available for $2.6 million.
The Pittsburgh Steelers legend scooped up the brand-new mansion in October 2020 for $1,260,972.
Located in the Boca Bridges community, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom, contemporary-style crib is move-in ready—and ready for a party.
From the entry, the open and airy floor plan features great entertaining spaces, including wine storage and display, a double-height living room, and a formal dining room.
The family room is just adjacent to the chef’s kitchen, with glass doors that open to a covered patio.
The kitchen serves up quartz counters and an oversized island with bar seating. A casual eating nook looks out to the backyard.
Up one level is the primary suite, which boasts a coffered ceiling, a sitting area, and double walk-in closets, and a loft area, which currently serves as a media room.
Other highlights include a bedroom on the main level, a den/office, a gym, a laundry room, and a three-car garage.
The home sits on a compact lot, but the outdoor space is luxe. It features a grassy lawn, a pool, and a summer kitchen with a gas grill and fridge. The lake is within walking distance.
Community residents have access to a clubhouse, restaurant, pools, a splash park, and tennis and pickleball courts. There’s also a sport court and fitness center.
Ward, a four-time Pro-Bowler, has tossed around some Georgia real estate. In 2017 he listed his Atlanta mansion for $6 million, before renting it out for $50,000 a month. He finally sold the home in 2019 for $3,637,600. Ward also sold a golf property in Milton, GA, for $1.85 million that same year.
Raised in Georgia, Ward played college ball at the University of Georgia. After being selected by the Steelers in the 1998 NFL draft, he played for the team for 14 seasons and won two Super Bowls. The multitalented athlete also placed first in “Dancing with the Stars” Season 12, with partner Kym Johnson.
Now 46, the retired player has served as an assistant with the New York Jets. He’s currently a wide receiver coach with Florida Atlantic University.
