Significant changes are in store for former “Access Hollywood” and “Today” host Billy Bush. While rumors are swirling that he’s about to make a comeback on the show “Extra,” he’s put his architecturally significant Encino, CA, home on the market for $5.4 million.
Built by architect Paul Williams in 1950, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom, 5,396-square-foot home has recently been remodeled to accommodate modern amenities. Yet it still reflects Williams’ signature style of traditional elegance.
While one section of the home is quite traditional, with an entry, formal dining room, and formal living room, other areas are more relaxed, including the updated kitchen with an island and breakfast nook.
Many of the rooms on the main floor open via French doors to a flagstone terrace and lush backyard with grand lawns and mature landscaping. The backyard also features a pool, outdoor kitchen, and 1,000-square-foot, two-bedroom guesthouse.
Among the home’s most charming features are the bedrooms, some doubtlessly decorated for Bush’s three daughters. There’s also a quaint playhouse and rope swing for diversion.
The main-floor master suite is also noteworthy with its fireplace, elegant tub situated in a bay window, and dual walk-in closets.
A second-floor family room is also a standout.
Bush’s home is located in the Encino neighborhood of Royal Oaks, where singer Kelly Clarkson recently purchased a home, and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards and her husband, The Agency co-founder Mauricio Umansky, bought the former Smokey Robinson estate.
In 2017, Bush sold his NYC townhouse in Chelsea for approximately $8 million. The 47-year-old entertainment news anchor had been lying low after his firing from the “Today Show,” until recent talk of his negotiations with “Extra” were reported by Deadline Hollywood.
