4. Iowa Hill Hydraulic Placer Mine

Hike up the Iowa Hill trail to explore a miners’ boardinghouse from the mid-19th century Pike’s Peak Gold Rush. With remnants of innovative mining techniques of the time, including sluice boxes, water flumes and hydraulic derricks, the mine park is lauded as one of the West’s best hydraulic mining exhibits.
