Existing as a U-shaped basin on the western slant of the Continental Divide, the scenic community of Liftside in Breckenridge, Colorado has everything one could want in a community such as good schools, an array of shops, parks and restaurants and of course skiing!

Residents who found that they relocated here due to the winter season also find they adore the other seasons equally, particularly for its pleasant spring, summer and fall temperatures and picture postcard scenery. Areas of Interest

The wildlife preserve known as Cucumber Gulch ensures that visitors and residents are aware of how susceptible the area of Breckenridge is and to be sure it is protected for future generations to enjoy. Often you will see such animals as moose, beavers and deer in this area.

Deemed a “Bicycle Friendly Community”, the area of Liftside has many areas set aside in which to bicycle. A community such as this can often see increased property values and growth of businesses, so bicycling has many other benefits apart from fitness!

Schools

Don’t worry about where to place the little ones as there are a menagerie of preschools like Peak 8 Children’s Center and schools like Breckinridge County High School, which is committed to putting their students first and where positive relationships are maintained.

Attractions

Almost everywhere you look Liftside holds a breathtaking view, so naturally scenic drives are popular. If you appreciate spectacular views using your bike, then many cyclists drive up to Boreas Pass and/or take in the tranquility of Hoosier Pass. You can also explore some back-country at Montezuma Ghost Town, which provides a glimpse into the mining era.

Parks

Among the parks of Liftside which to roam and enjoy is Kingdom Park, which offers two softball parks (both with lighting accommodations), playgrounds for younger children, four tennis courts and an area for whitewater kayaking. The 100% free Breckenridge Skateboard Park provides skate enthusiasts with a nine-foot in depth bowl area for individuals at all skill levels.

Those who enjoy a game of golf, there are four golf courses such as the Bear Nine which also holds magnificent views of the Colorado Rocky Mountains as well as an occasional view of a deer or red tail hawks.

Every fall the annual Oktoberfest brims with festivities such as parties, polka music and dancers, foods such as German cuisine all while enjoying the fall foliage. Among the monthly events is the 4th of July celebration, which includes a parade, plenty of hot dogs and fireworks and even a Firecracker Mountain Bicycle Race.
